n May, 1995, Projeto Âncora - started out, facing the challenge of transforming the reality of its community. In order to do that, it invested in building - a future in which children, teenagers and the elderly would be aware and engaged citizens, comitted to a more just, promising Brazil.

From then on, the Project has offered assorted activities, that help develop potential talents, enrich school education and improve people's self esteem. Nowadays, almost 700 children and teenagers can study computer science or learn a profession, attend circus/theater school, art workshops, music and sports classes; and they have access to daycare, medical, nutritional and dental assistance, psychological attendance and the largest public library of that area.
